Given the scope and breadth of issues facing our coastal systems, the success of CoastRI relies on synthesis and coordination among NCRIS capabilities and close partnerships, collaborations, consultations, and co-design with all relevant stakeholders along the coastal observation value chain including, but not limited to:
- National, state, and local governments
- National agencies (e.g. Bureau of Meteorology, Geoscience Australia)
- Industry (e.g., ports, fisheries, shipping, aquaculture, tourism, renewable energy)
- Science and research community
- Non-governmental organizations
- City planners, financiers, and insurers
- Emergency services
- Natural resource and marine park managers
- First Nations communities
- Beachside communities and homeowners
- Beach users
Integration with state agencies, co-design with First Nations Peoples, and the ability to address both national and state-based priorities is fundamental to development of the CoastRI program of work.
